Our Facility
Through the generosity of donors and by countless hours of work by staff, board members, and volunteers, Ridin' High has its own facility on Long Creek Road.
This 15-acre facility includes:
- Four spacious pastures, several paddocks, and a track system to provide our horses with great places to spend their 'down time.'
- An accessible 9-stall barn, fully matted for smooth, dust-free surfaces
- A 50' x 100' indoor arena with high-end footing
- Open land for riding as well as a "Sensory" (Discovery) Trail. The trail includes several activity stations, which can be used to provide a number of equine activities and therapies.
- Parents' waiting/observation room, accessible bathrooms, office, and storage room
- "The Hub," a beautiful and functional parking/pavilion area that allows for better accessibility for our riders (provided through a Walters Foundation Grant)
We are also happy to provide a very horse-friendly setting for our equine partners. When they are not being used in lessons, our therapy horses live in small groups in a variety of small pastures and paddocks that are strategically placed around the facility. Each area has free-choice shelter, providing a way for horses to be out of the elements when they choose - but also get the benefits of exercise, free movement, and herd socialization.
