Fall/Halloween Activities

October 25-31, 2019

Riders and volunteers will be participating in fun Fall/Halloween activities during their regular lesson times. We’ll have Fall-oriented games and ‘trick or treating’ on horseback in the arena…we might even dress up Midnight and Butterball! All riders and volunteers are welcome to ‘dress up’–although if the costumes are TOO scary you might not be able to wear them during lessons. (Our therapy horses are fabulous, but we’re not exactly sure how they might react to ‘floppy’ or scary items!)

New Volunteer Workshop

November 2, 2019; 9:00-11:00 am

If you’ve always thought about becoming a volunteer…now is your chance! We will conduct a new volunteer workshop from 9-11:00 am at Ridin’ High’s facility (complete with snacks, meeting the horses, receiving key training, and participating in hands-on activities). We have a supportive and fun community and hope you will consider joining us!

Rider Celebration

November 2, 2019; 12:00-3:00 pm

This is our chance to highlight our riders’ achievements! We will have a rider/family potluck from 12:00-1:00 pm (which is a great chance to meet other families in our community!); then each rider will be honored in this special ceremony at Ridin’ High. Please make sure to sign up on the office door by October 21, 2019 so we can order awards!

Ridin’ High Rodeo

November 8-9, 2019
Walters State Expo Center 7:30 pm

Our annual benefit rodeo is coming up! The rodeo will include a silent auction, pony rides, and lots of exciting action!

We need sponsors for the rodeo as well as sale-able items (horse and non-horse related) for our silent auction! We also need a small army of people to help set up everything on Thursday, November 7 (starting at 5:00 pm). Please contact us to find out how to help.

Closed for Thanksgiving

November 28-30, 2019

We will be CLOSED for Thanksgiving, Thursday November 28-Saturday, November 30, 2019.

If you normally have a lesson on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday (and are interested in a ‘make up’ lesson on Monday, November 25 or Tuesday, November 26), please contact the office to schedule it.

Christmas Parade

December 14, 2019
Rouse Road

We love to have fun at Ridin’ High–and build our sense of community! One way we do that is to participant in the Rouse Road Christmas Parade. Ridin’ High clients, staff, and volunteers will have the choice of riding on a vintage fire truck or on other vehicles. Either way, it’s sure to be a memorable experience!

(While we don’t generally take the therapy horses in the parade, a few staff and volunteer members also represent Ridin’ High by riding their own horses.)

Volunteer Christmas Party

December 13, 2019 (Time TBA)

Nancy Bible’s parties are legendary! If you’re a volunteer or board member, please save the date for this great holiday event.
